Hi everyone, I was just wondering if someone could answer me as to why I haven't heard back from PSU yet. I've called admissions and they're no help at all.
I applied to University Park on September 1st (the first day possible) and have had the "We are reviewing your credentials. A decision will be posted here as soon as one is made." status since late September. I have a 3.9 W GPA and an 1850 SAT. (1260 on just reading & math) I thought my credentials were all good enough to get into UP but now I'm not so sure. Any thoughts? Thanks! :)

They really do not process applications in the order they are received. Hang tight, with those credentials you should be absolutely fine!

Yeah, I wouldn’t panic. It sounds like above a certain threshold (1400 CR/M), they expedite the process quite a bit, but I don’t think that’s the norm at all. It might also have to do with which school you applied to. Hang in there–your stats look competitive!

Also, I heard there was a great influx of applicants this year so the admissions office is having a hard time reviewing it all!

That’s weird. They don’t do them in order though. I know people who scored over 2000 and all of them found out in less than 2 weeks

Don’t worry! You’ll get your decision soon. I applied the last week of October and found out that I got in yesterday. I was feeling doubtful too but don’t let the waiting get to you! You should be more than confident with the stats you have!

@ ohwoahyay, what are your stats? i applied mid october and haven’t heard

I have weak stats compared to others who have made it in but my ACT:27 GPA: W 3.5 UW 4.0. but I think my essay and resume were pretty well done. I applied to the college of communications!

@ohwoahyay i applied to college of communications too! 31 ACT, my gpa is 3.3 but it’s a crazy upswing (2.3 freshman yr to 3.9 jr year) and loads of APs and honors, plus a really good essay and amazing letters of rec from known broadcasters sooooo i hope so!

@hopmayer Oh wow! Your ACT score is reallly great and the broadcaster letter of rec will have surely made you stand out so I’m sure youll be receiving good news soon!

You will hear back, at the latest, by January 31st if you applied before November 30th.
