<p>Okay, so Harvard is a little more famous than Columbia. Your friends pause slightly before acknowledging Columbia, but they recognize HYP immediately. Big deal. How does this put up any more “hoops” for you to jump through? How is this going to hurt you or slow you down in any conceivable way? </p>

<p>You are slicing the prestige baloney pretty thin if you think there is a significant difference in what your opportunities for internships, jobs, grad schools, etc. are coming out Columbia than they would have been graduating from HYP.</p>
<p>Barack Obama seems to have recovered quite nicely from the crushing tragedy of having attended Columbia. Perhaps you can too.</p>
