Hi
I got to a small IB charter high school who is notorious for sending kids to very "safety" school like colleges and no one in my school's history has gotten into an Ivy League/Great School except for 1 person (UPenn). Anyway, I have 125 people in my grade, and I am ranked 17th (top 13% ish). It really upsets me that people are top 3% at their schools and top 3% is like 30 kids (1/3 of my grade). Do colleges acknowledge that fact that you have a small, rigorous school or is it a "no excuse" policy when it comes to complaining about ratio of rank to class size?
Thanks!

Don’t worry about this, worry about the rest of your application. My D graduated from a class of about 60 students, and she was not in the top 10% (maybe skimming 20%)? Our school also does not send tons of students to top schools, maybe 2/year. My D had no hook, and still got into U of Chicago and Swarthmore. Her results were the best in her grade last year even though she was certainly not at the very top of her class academicailly. Don’t sweat the ranking business – just put together the best application you can.

Thank you so much
Hopefully my EC’s/Test Scores can hold up like your D’s :)
