Hey, these beds are a lot worse if you’re 6’4’’ plus

wait until later in the summer (july-august) when stores like target have a special dorm shopping section

You should wait until more stores have their college collections out. They have a lot more to choose from. I got all my stuff from Target but you can get college stuff almost anywhere. Pottery Barn is a good place to look.

I like my jersey sheets. Get those. They’re super, super, super comfortable.

We were told to get a full comforter vs a twin. Much better selection, and it goes down lower on the sides to cover the under the bed stuff. DD is going to wait until July or August and buy solid sheets to go with it - the sheets we found, even at BBB, were limited at this time of year. With the gorgeous comforter she bought, simple sheets will be great. Definitely tough with XL twin right now! Bide your time, and pick a full comforter.

^ Interesting…I would never want a full comforter…but that’s probably because at my school all the beds are up against the wall, so a full comforter would constantly be falling off your bed!

TJMaxx and Marshalls had really great sheets last year for girls. High thread count. You know how they can blow hot and cold, so you’ll have to check them a few times. Definitely during the summer months though. I shopped for my son, so they didn’t work for me - but they were cool.

Found that the only thing that really had to be bought in XTra Long are the fitted sheets. Everything else can be twin size.

I wound up mixing and matching items from different places in a khaki/navy theme with a little more color in the quilt. Solid colored down blanket and fleece blanket from Target. Great sales and I got really good prices. But he’s my only kid so I had fun and took my time. ;-)

Good luck and have fun!

I second whoever posted Urban Outfitters. I got a duvet cover from there and it’s awesome. I didn’t have luck at any department stores, so I’d probably skip those if I were you. Sheets are harder. I ended up getting two sets on sale from either Target or JCPenney’s I think. They’re not the highest quality, but they’re jersey-ish, soft, and switching between the two sets makes them last longer.

I got my sheets from TJ Maxx, and my duvet and comforter from Ikea. I’ve been happy with them both, but I’m not very picky with my bedding.

I ordered my sheets from the schools. It’s this ugly ass pink/blue combination that makes no sense to me because the colors don’t match AT ALL. I’m just hoping the pictures are bad or something. I’ve got until July to change my mind or buy something else and I think I might. I just couldn’t resist the $150 price tag for pillow cases, sheets, reversible comforter, matress pad and towels and some other stuff that slips my mind at the moment.

JC Penny is the place to go for twin bed stuff… I dont know why, and we dont have one so I ordered my stuff online, but everyone always says it, and its true.

Got tons of dorm stuff there my freshman year.
