Why Is BC Ranked Near NYU

I honestly can't wrap my head around why BC is anywhere near NYU. They are better in almost every major category academic wise. The student body is slightly better at NYU and faculty at NYU is just flat out better than BC. So why is BC ranked next to NYU????? i think its is extremely overrated. They have better sports THATS IT!

don’t read too much into those rankings. In a generall sense NYU is a top school so it should be near the top which is well reflected in rankings but when it gets down to the nitty gritty you can’t just lumps schools in order when each school has shining attributes that are unique in themselves.

Plus it is an old ranking using 2007’s admissions rate for NYU which was like 36%. Rather high compared to 2008’s 24%. The new rankings should be out in August and I’m pretty sure NYU will make a decent jump.

What? BC is deservingly a peer school with NYU.

NO IT ISNT! STAY OUT Of THIS LIBERATE!!

What makes you think that? You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.

haha brownbear1 is crazy :D

Lol, I don’t smell bias anywhere.

boston college is an excellent school, as is nyu. I hate the rankings. NYU is severely underranked by most notably, US News. NYU is certainly up there [especially stern and tisch] with ucla, berkeley, northwestern, cmu, and georgetown, among others. The rankings dont do justice to nyu. I think the methodology is pretty bad. Also, a big reason nyu isnt ranked higher is cause nyu is so expensive, so there are alot of unhappy students.

NYU is located in NYC, which makes things very expensive. NYU leases and have to spend more on the same things for a higher price than BC.
