I apologize - I haven't taken chemistry yet so I am completely unaware of the concepts. I was just wondering where math plays a part in chemistry. I'm debating about self teaching chemistry and I think I'm pretty good at math lol

Btw does anyone have any advice or help pages for self studying chem?

Problem solving plays a key part in both math and chemistry. Even though chemistry at the AP level really only uses math up through algebra and very simple geometry (for VSEPR, I guess), the critical thinking and problem solving skills required are similar.

I took ap calc (loved it and got a 5) but I really don’t enjoy chem as much. Death to stoichiometry! That’s the only thing I hate about chem. You need to understand very basic math for chem though. They both are abstract subjects though, so that may be why you can easily excel at both if you do well in one.

Those people who think AP Chem will be easy because the are good at math find it hard. Those people who understand that good math skills will make understanding the chemsitry content easier will probably find it easy.
