I love when people say what they’d “argue,” but don’t argue anything of any sort. Rather, they make a baseless and conclusory statement.

To muerteapablo, maybe your friends were just lucky because when the people I knew tried it, they failed spectacularly. And one of them, I know for sure, is doing well enough that she has a good shot at all the best Dental schools in the nation. Or maybe they were just unlucky.

And Columbia2002 really just wants a fight, yes? In the statement, dwharris said “I’d argue” as in “I WOULD argue.” Which, I believe, suggests a hypothetical. In other words, if he were to make a case about it, that would be his thesis.

A more appropriate statement would be, “In my humble personal opinion.” Saying what you would argue – without making any argument whatsoever – is a poor way to attempt to bolster your statement from something that’s just your personal opinion to something that’s grounded in logic/fact/reality.

^ I’d argue that this is ridiculously pointless. In my humble personal opinion.

What’s the internet for, if not pointless arguments?

Porn!!!

Yes, well, you have to take a break from that at some point.
