other than specifics like a strong biomed eng. program, how does duke stand out? i'm applying to columbia engineering, cornell engineering.... and so on. right now, i'm just applying to duke for namesake. i haven't visited the campus yet. so i basically know nothing about duke. what do you guys think about the engineering program?

Is it a major research university? What are its strong points? I'm really really interested in research. is duke good for me?

The engineering program is going to be expanding by leaps and bounds during the next few years. This is why I'm applying, because I know Duke will soon have a very strong program, and it is continuing to grow.

well i want to goto college somewhere that I will enjoy my experience.. duke's campus is just amazing. research umm.. its available prolly not as prevalent as cornell, but i dont know for sure.

it is definately trying to grow, increasing enrollment 20% over the next 4 years.

i said that the engineering program focuses on interdisciplinary studies, which is good for me because i love art, music, and history as much as science.

duke is also very close to NC's research triangle.
and top biomed of course. :D

So what should I basically talk about under the "why duke engineering" part? I'm really going there to do biomed eng.. but I don't want to say that in fear that I won't have a chance. Any ideas on what to say?

Me too!!! ^^^ (Not that exciting, but I am bored, tired, studying for physics tests..........O yeah, and waiting for my Duke letter to be posted...)
