No these are just the things i’ve seen from looking around on the internet, but that was the impression I got. But how are you so sure she’s not going to Yale? She did apply to Yale and got in, right?

I spoke with my admissions officer at an admitted students event, and she assured me herself that Emma Watson never applied to Yale.

So no, she will not be attending next year.

FFS finally I have some ‘backup’ on my claim that she never applied to Yale…

Yeah.
She never applied to Yale.
So she’s not going to Yale.

Ha.

Damn, I believe you guys, but I just don’t want to!

^ Ah, if I had a nickel for every time that attitude was present in serious conflicts…

Oh, this is a serious conflict. :)

Like any good, loyal, rabid parent of a Yalie, I of course want Emma to pick Yale. It would be pretty cool, especially if she said something like, “Why of course I picked Yale, I knew the minute Dean Brenzel starting talking about the sorting hat it was the place for me. Now all I have to worry about is the college to which I’ll be assigned.”

Please note - above sentence should be read with slight English accent…

^ Me too, but she didn’t apply.

There ya go, spread the word to all of the non-believers on CC…

Let it be heard all across the lands that Emma Watson never applied to Yale!

(“City on a Hill” anyone?)

^ I caught that.

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Catholic school. Three years.

Actually, I think it just contributed to my opposition of theism and organized religion.

Is it true?

[quite]The 18-year-old Harry Potter heroine recently dished to French mag Dreamin Up about going to college, her personal style and becoming a tigress. Check it:

On furthering her education: I go to Uni in September. I need to devote time for my studies, in attending English class and Philosophy. After having hesitating a long time between England and the USA, I hope Ill attend the American university of Brown, in Rhode Island state. If it works, Ill follow my acting career in parallel. Ill never leave my biggest passion.

Yale has a sorting hat?

Sure, how else do they determine your residential college???

Yale > Brown.

um, you honestly didn’t see her moving to New Haven did you? :)

“The British actress had said earlier this year that she wanted to concentrate on her degree and then applied to several colleges in the US and UK. However, after touring several campuses in the US, including Harvard, she has decided to go to Brown University because she has a lot of friends there.”

I googled her. I doubt thats the full answer.
[Emma Watson to Study at Brown University](http://news.mylocoworld.com/emma-watson-to-study-at-brown-university/)

she got accepted to Yale but isn’t attending.
I guess she is going to Brown instead…

I don’t think we will know until a better source comes out and/or Emma posts on her website.

However, if she chose Brown, I can definitely see why. Rather than just being about “friends,” if you want it to be, Brown can be way easier and WAYYY more flexible than almost any other elite school that I know of.

Why? Unlike Yale:
-Brown you can take any course (including all courses if you want) Pass/Fail, so you don’t have to even have a GPA.
-You don’t have to graduate in 8 semesters like you do at Yale.
-You can leave and come back FAR more easily.
-There are no distribution requirements so you can take (nearly) whatever you want, aside from stuff for your major.
-etc

she did not call it the “university of brown.”

still no official announcement from her. she’s said it would be on her website first.
