<p>I understand what you mean, and it can make you feel horrible.... I have a similar situation with a university I would like to attend. I mean it's ranked in the top 100, but happens to let many people in who didn't really put the effort.
Example ( somewhat):
A student with a GPA of a 3.0, hard course load... and another student with a 3.0 easy course load. Both students get accepted into the same university. Student with 3.0 hard course load feel discourage since they put in the effort, while many others didn't and was easily admitted.
So it's sorta like students who didn't even put the effort gets in as well which makes it horrible, and even ones who was clearly trouble makers in high school. Then when you find out the majority ( or seems that way) of your graduating class is going to the same university as you, it's a major turnoff.</p>
