?????
I'm asian too, but,
Just asking. Is there anyone not asian or white?

Well, that's why they are URMs, you know....

how do you know our races?

Indeed...

and I seem to remember someone posting a chances thread who was African American.

Odd conclusion that you drew there... I don't remember posting my race/ethnicity in my profile... or is the handle "celestial605" really revealing? =] I know some posters misjudged my gender...

celestial,
I imagine you as a gorgeous Blonde, lol
don't tell me though

Whether or not this forum appears biased towards one race or another, rest assured that Stanford itself is incredibly diverse in pretty much every way. Although Caucasians and Asians are the majority in terms of numbers, other races have a huge influence on campus life.

/me waves to jimmy

I agree very much with Jimmy. CC was not publicized when I was entering college; I found it by accident this summer while doing a Google search for statistics about Stanford students.

So the people who end up finding this site, I believe, are not necessarily representative of exactly who you will meet in college.

I am impressed by and grateful for the diversity here... I think it's awesome that I have a friend from Sweden and a friend from Korea who studied in Australia + more... not to mention the exciting variety in intellectual interests and other passions. It's so different from high school (which was very dull for me), and I love it here =]
