Why is it taking so long...

Alright, let us know (:

still no response. i don’t know what to think. to me, this isn’t looking to good for the school in my eyes :(

^ Yeah they’ll probably tell you about the same thing they said to me. I mean I guess we could kind of look at it as better. They didn’t defer us or accept us or deny us. They usually just flat out deny those who are going to be denied, so I would think that we are either in the defer or accept pool. They know that there’s only a couple more chances to take the ACT/SAT if the problems are our scores, so if they wanted to defer because of them I would think that they would have done it by now. When they defer people it basically means that that they HAVE to improve in order to accepted. I’m taking this “holding your application/decision thing” as saying that there’s a possibility that we can be accepted as we are (without improvement), and if that’s the case then I think they would accept us before deferred people. Idk that’s just my logic. If not then I don’t see why they wouldn’t have deferred us by now. It would be kind of cruel to have waited all this time not to have been deferred yet ( in order for us to be able to know for sure that we need to improve), and then potentially having to wait even longer to be rejected (or deferred) . That’s how I’m thinking. Do you get what I’m saying?

I agree with what Maydayparade is saying…ive been waiting since October for a decision…still haven’t gotten one…my friend has been waiting since november so she emailed them last week and she got a reply saying that she is being put on waitlist…soo I emailed them on thrusday of last week and i still havent gotten a reply from them back yet…but im saying it should take 3 to 4 days for them to reply back…i should hear from them back maybe today or within the next 2 days…but i agree…if they didnt see potential in us they woulda just flat out denied us by now…but its so frustrating that they are taking sooooo long. Its ridiculous.

^ They said the words “wait list?” because I don’t know if that’s what they meant by “holding your application” or not. I also replied to the email they sent me so I’m waiting on that response too. Also, what were her GPA and test scores? And what term did she apply for ?

i stilllllll have no reply. jeesh. and i know i emailed the right place lol.
i understand what you’re saying mayday, but this is torture for all of us.
by wait list, i would understand that they are waiting for room…

and i applied for the fall term.
i got a 1450 on my first sat, a 1550 on my second.
my highest act was a 22.
those are some stats, in case ya’ll were wondering. in case we are all in the same boat!

yeah. so we are probably the borderline kids.
how nice, lol.

Augh the stress

stability17…u can probably get in for summer term…fall term is a lot more competitive on those act and sat scores…ur 22 on ur act wont get u in for the fall…but it could get u in for summer…so they could possibly offer u summer admission…and maydayparade…she told me she got waitlisted so they said it could possibly take up till may 1st for them to decide whether or not to accept her…she got a 25 ACT…but she got a D and an F on two subjects…so that probably affected her chances of getting in right away…I personally…applied with a 3.6 GPA which is good enough for summer term…all my extracurriculars are good…BUT whats holding me down is my ACT…my highest unfortunately was a 19 :/…but at least they havent flat out denied me…so idk…im just waiting for an email back… which is ALSO taking forever :/

Yeah you guys probably know that I have a 21 ACT 1540 is my highest SAT
My GPA is now a 5.2 though but they have 4.8 . & Dang I hope I don’t have to wait until May 1st. They said they’d give me a decision "later on in the semester " arghh. But i’m sure I’ll at least have a 22 on the ACT by then so that’s better. I hate the fact that me sucking math is the only thing bringing my scores down  If I scored in math like I did like reading or writing I wouldn’t even be in this situation  Ohh well. Hopefully I can fix this situation on Saturday ! I mean I WILL lol :)

I get my scores thursday for my sat

You guys haven’t gotten a decision either, i called today because i got deferred and I had to send in my semester grades. The transcripts are still processing ugh. It’s been a week and two days they have been processing. Hopefully they accept us all sometime this week. I think i read earlier in this post that you guys said they may be waiting for UF admission decisions? IF that’s the case, then i guess we’ll be getting decision next week. I thought that UCF being a rolling admissions school, we would be able to get our decision a bit faster. But It’s almost the length of waiting for a school like FSU or UF. Not actually lol, but it feels like an eternity. I’ve sent in 4 transcripts. Three were the same. Hopefully this is the week they finally get mine. :/

Urgh. You guys aren’t the only one’s waiting.

I applied late November, and I still haven’t gotten anything.

1310 Math and Reading SAT
4.8 weighted GPA.

Dunno what’s going on.

@Smile, I’m guessing they will wait until after UF maybe even until after FSU’s second decision date in March. They usually don’t make people wait very long. If you have good stats they tell you relatively quickly which is bad for people like us (borderline) because they’ve already given decisions to a lot of people. That’s why I’m sure they are waiting to see who’s going to the other schools so that they will get a feel of about how many they can let in/have room for.

@Arte, Ya you applied a little late. if you had applied earlier you probably would’ve known sooner.

That’s so stupid. They can;t accept us that late, What about rooms, I can’t live off campus, I don’t even know how to get around orlando

Hey at least we get a chance. I’m sure we can get rooms.

YEah atleast we do, but i want a rom in the towers which looks like it’s never going to happen:( I should have applied out of state ugh

You didn’t apply anywhere else? O.o & towers is expensive. If you can afford that then you can get an apartment. I don’t know how to get around Orlando either but when I visited there were literally apartments across the street. Don’t worry.

I applied in september and i still havent gotten anything. Even people with a 2.6 uw gpa got deferred  this is my info
GPA UW 3.06
GPA W 3.87
ACT 27
i passed all my ap exams
BPA State President, over 300 community service hours, over 4 BPA state awards etc…
will i get in to the summer term or should i just abandon all hope since its been so long?

katy92…u should be in for summer term…ur gpa is a little low…especially ur unweighted which is the one that counts the most…and ur academic core gpa…but ur ACT is really good…i think what may be holding u down is ur gpa…but if i were u…id email them…because its been 4 months since u applied…i applied on october 7th…and i still havent gotten anything so i emailed them a couple of days ago (still no reply) but u should email or call them to see whats up…maybe ur missing something…id email them if i were u and see what they say. But dnt worry…ucf is taking forever to reply…theres a lot of people in here in the same position as u are in…take it as a good thing…u havent gotten deffered or worse…rejected. so u never know :P
