Sending a letter saying something like that just seems very unlikely. They won’t flat out admit “We’ve reached full capacity”. It’s almost impossible for a University to reach capacity, especially UCF who is constantly expanding. I think your friend may be making excuses for why he/she was denied. Just my speculation though, I’ll find out for sure on Monday.

@ Blue how will you find out? You’re going to call?

I emailed UCF. If I don’t recieve a reply by the time I’m home from school tomorrow, I will call.

I’m so frusturated with UCF… I applied in september so I would have a back up school, considering I have pretty excellent stats and I got accepted into my top school, UMiami. I have yet to hear an admissions decision or any other news from them about my application. I submitted everything with in two days and made sure they received it all. I called and emailed twice and even had my headmaster call and all I got were rude answers from them. UCF is not on my good side right now.

I agree mspears8, UCF can indeed get very rude. No scratch that, their undergradustae admissions officers can get very rude. Out of the many time I’ve called there, it’s always been as if I did something to them. I don’t understand, and I called for simple things, like asking if my transcripts had been received. There was only one time that I actually got a nice adm. officer, and even that surprised me. So I think it is a good idea you guys contact them, and don’t let them intimidate you with their mean attitude lol :)

Here’s some good news for those still waiting for a response from UCF:

UF accepted more people this year than normal. About (approximately) 12,900 people compared to the normal 10,294, with a 41% acceptance rate compared to the normal 36%. So, what does this mean for you? Well, the more people accepted to UF, the more spots open up at UCF because most people accepted at both schools will choose UF.

ughhh… I just found out I was rejected today : ( I wanted to go to UCF sooo bad to. I thought my grades and test scores were good enough to get into the summer but like someone said before the summer might be filled up

Miamifins, did you originally apply for Fall?

And no, summer is not full. Called today and they said they are still accepting students for both terms.

this just sucks, although i totally sounds like a pessimistic gloomy kid right now. and to whoever said UCF was not on their side, I agree. They aren’t exactly on my side either at the moment. My status on my portal has not changed, no email in weeks, nothing.
how can I expect to go to a school that can’t even keep up with my stuff before I enroll? ugh. and why can’t they send out an email to all of us. anyway?

i might just have to go to scc, or seminole state now rather.
they seem like they have a lot less problems…

no blue, I applied for summer. I just found out today after sending in my application in way back on October 1st.

@stability I feel you, but do you seriously expect to get everything kept up to date when there are like 56,000 students and on top of that 25,000+ applicants? Even after I got accepted it still took like three or four days to reply a simple e-mail! Easiest thing to do is call.

@Miami, What are your GPA and test scores ?

i had a 26 act. 1800 SAT. And i had a 4.3 Weighted. 3.7 unweighted

I know they have many students to look after, but I would have just thought they’d be more…organized?
My cousin, a senior in high school as well, also applied around the same time I (or we, haha) did. He said that UCF lost his transcripts and other information and had to hand deliver it to them.
Either way, let’s hope all of our time spent pouring over those AP books and our effort spent over tedious essays do not go to waste…

@ miamifins2381…i dnt see why u didnt get accepted for summer term…ur ACT is far enough for summer term…and ur gpa is really good too…thats weird…

Miami…*** HAPPENED?! You should be easily accepted. You need to call and make sure they had all your stuff, and they weren’t looking at someone elses transcripts and such. Its happend before!

yea, im gonna call tomorow

I’m also having trouble with ucf. I applied in September and I’ve sent my transcripts, called, hand delivered my transcripts, and emailed again today. I understand that they have a lot of applicants, but they know they’re going to have a lot. They’re the second largest school in the country. They could probably use more people looking through applications.

So I sent in my transcript again after being deferred way back in October for ym grades (not SAT which i got a 1610 on or 1090 CR/M). I got my GPA up from a 2.78 unweighted to a 3.1 unweighted but from 3.3 weighted to a 3.4 weighted. Somebody chance me!

@Knightboy miamifins had a 4.3 and got rejected (probably just a mistake on UCF’s part though) I don’t know what to tell yah summer’s full apparently and your stats are borderline summer. Unless your like in the IB program or buried in AP’s your on the bubble. Good luck!
