Embemily, I’m a transfer too and have sent transcripts several times, multiple formats, and have conformation that they were sent but still UCF says their not getting them. I guess this isnt an isolated problem then. Try sending a sealed copy of your transcripts yourself with proof of mail and if you have to overnight them. Then if there is a deadline issue and they still say they dont have your transcripts you can prove you sent them. And keep calling admissions and checking and speak with a supervisor.

@Julius, that was my next plan of action, and I had been calling them like crazy as well! I had actually just picked up a physical copy of my transcripts to mail to UCF when my mom called me and spoke to a supervisor stating that they had JUST received my transcripts… I called UCF yesterday to confirm that this was true, and they told me that they did indeed have my transcripts. However the My UCF portal is still stating that they have not been received (you’d think the fact that it’s electronic would make updating the system easy!).

Now I just have to wait… I’m really hoping I get in. I’ve never been so nervous about acceptance into a school before.

miami- my son got in last summer session with a 3.7 weighted from oos and a 1200 for tow subjects he also had am ACT 24- your scores were highter so something is not right but I think you should try to appeal- Myd wants to go there for 2012 and her act is only a 21 now with gpa weighted of 3.8 so im worried that you didnt get in

still nothing. my ucf portal still shows “initial transcripts have been received.” :(

Mine too… it’s really obnoxious

Do we get horrible choice of housing because they didn’t respond in time?

So I read all of these posts and decided to add my stuff to it.

I applied in August for Fall 2011. I am coming from a Community College in NY. I got deferred the first time in January because they wanted an updated Transcript. I sent that in and today I have found out that I have gotten Deferred AGAIN! This is what it said…

-Your application has undergone an initial review and is currently deferred for further evaluation with the Admissions Committee. A decision may be delayed as we assess the strength of this year’s applicant pool.

-If you would like to submit additional information or test scores to improve your competitiveness and allow us to make a more immediate decision, please send additional credentials-

I do not no exaclty why I was deferred this time. I think they are waiting to see if other people are better and than if there is any room left they will let me in. Its just rediculous. Its like I have waited so long and you haven’t denied me but won’t accept me either.

My GPA is 3.1 and I haven’t sent anything else. Should I try and send in a Letter of Recomedation Letter from one of my professors?

Question : What if UCF were to accept us say May 2nd, but most schools want us to commit by May 1st and we do… we wouldn’t be able to go to UCF?

I’m nervous about that very thing, Mayday. Worse, we ignore other acceptances, and then get -denied- May 2nd. I don’t like admissions playing with our future like this =[

I won’t be getting denied May 2nd ! lol If I don’t hear back by like the 29th (and by then I would have been like emailing everyday…I mean what would I have to lose?) then I’m saying yes to USF. I worked too hard to be going to schools I don’t want to go to (University of Tampa & St.Leo were my “back ups” for USF).

Yeah… I’m not sure where I want to go if UCF doesn’t get back to me. I’ve technically only got 15 hours left to get my AA, so I’m thinking Direct Connect to UCF won’t be too bad… Unless you NEED two years, and can’t just transfer once you have your AA.

Geez, heck if I know… I really hope we don’t get strung alone for too long D:

:(
Did you apply to USF? & are you instate?
You’ve probably seen it but here’s their website about direct connect:
[UCF REGIONAL CAMPUSES : Direct Connect](<a href=“UCF Connect - Centers and Campuses Supporting Students in Central Florida”>UCF Connect - Centers and Campuses Supporting Students in Central Florida)

If you are accepted after the deadline, you are given a 2 week window to respond to the late-accepting school without penalties. At least that is what my college advisor says.

@ HurricaneKid, you mean without any penalties from USF correct? Well I guess that’s all you could mean lol

I didn’t end up applying to USF, despite a bunch of lawyer alumni who work with my mom urging me to do so so they could ‘watch over’ me for her while I was there XD

I just didn’t end up liking the campus much, and got an uneasy feeling during my tour, like I just didn’t fit in, and I’m really not interested in another couple years of not fitting in. :P

Oh, and yeah, I was there… I was still a little lost there, because the process talks about certain things to do at 15, 30, and 45 hours, but if I already have 45, what would I do? It says anyone graduating with an AA, which would be me, with out those hours :P

It’s been about a month now since UCF received all of my transcripts, and I still haven’t heard anything back from them. The My UCF portal says that all of my transcripts have been received, I called them to confirm this, but my admission status online says that it is being deferred “pending on receipt of all transcripts.” …!!! I e-mailed them (still waiting for a response) and called them about this, and they told me to just keep checking online and that my status should be updated soon.

I’m really starting to get worried… I’m going to be miserable if it ends up I can’t transfer.

how long ago did you apply em?

its been about 8 months since all my stuff was received… no answer

My son who has been deferred since October was just denied after UCF received his semester grades. He flunked Spanish 2, immediately signed up for FLVS to complete his second year of foreign language requirement and hates it, wants to drop both Spanish courses (he’s taking 9 courses this semester to boost his GPA not a good idea now) but if he drops Spanish and attends Valencia (his twin has already accepted UCF) for direct connect, am I correct in telling him he’ll have to take 2 full years of foreign language to be admitted even with an AA to a state school?

He’s saying it won’t be Spanish and I would agree. He only applied at UCF, didn’t have a shot at UF or FSU so is pretty set on going to Valencia and joining the UCF clubs with his brother. He busted his rear to get into UCF and he’ll still get there. It’s just so discouragiong to see him be denied because he had to take his weakest subject his Senior year. SAT was fine, huge EC and recommendations but the GPA didn’t cut it and now has dropped below 3.0 which basically killed his chances.

So I guess my question is if he stays in Spanish 2X2 and gets a D can he apply for UCF Spring Semester and every semester to come until they see what a great kid they rejected?

i have no idea, honestly House, especially since you question confused me a little bit.
But I will say that I took FLVS my entire senior year (still finishing up) ((and I do love it actually)) simply because my public school lacked in giving me my educational needs.
I went to public school freshman through junior years.

I just thought about it, but I am taking 3 AP courses with FLVS. They said that they will not release any grades whatsoever until I take the AP exams in May. Perhaps that is why UCF is taking so long with me…?
That is my only little “lightbulb” moment.

I could only hope…

And haha, I have good grades in them all too :D

Does anyone else currently take FLVS? FLVS meaning, Florida Virtual School, Florida’s leading online school?
