Why is my ACT so low

I got a 28 last year which is so bad. I have been doing practice tests/sections daily and feel my composite is at a 31 now. I still feel so mediocre I have 98 UW average and top 10 out of 650 and all I can get is a 31... If I even get that when I take it. Most of the practice tests have been Barron's as well as the red book tests. I've ranged from 30-33 on mostly all of them. I just feel like everyone is getting at least a 28 or 31. Maybe it's just cause I'm on this site a lot I don't know.

Well everyone does NOT score between 28 and 31 and a composite score of 28 is definitely not low. Some people would kill for a 28. No matter how high your GPA is or how challenging your course load, that doesn’t mean your test scores will equate. I think CCers, including myself, need to learn that our stats do not define us. I joined this community thinking that it would be much more supportive, but I see too many people obsessing over things that cannot be changed. All you can do is give it your best shot.

Scores have nothing to do with how well you do in school most of the time. one of friends was a fairly average student 3.6/3.7 grades with a few AP’s who scored a 35 while the other was in the top of their class and were in may AP’s and scored a 27. It has to do with how well of a test taker you are. I received a 26 have taken many advanced courses who also has a 3.6. I was pretty disappointed in my scores. Although with prep over the summer with PR’s cracking the ACT/1296 and the real act my scores have jumped to the 33-34 range. And I realized ANYONE can score high on the ACT either with natural test taking abilities or a lot of prep. DON’T GIVE UP :). Continue taking practice tests, go over your answers and your scores will go UP.
