<p>Hey everybody, I got accepted earlier :P</p>
<p>But I have some decisions to make. Trying to limit my choices, so can guys tell me why I might want to go to OSU? The pros/cons… Or can you guys tell me why did you guys pick OSU? I dont really know which college I will pick…</p>
<p>Oh yeah, I am in the Honors prog but will not be joining the Honors housing.</p>

<p>OK, OSU. Here goes.</p>
<p>Even if you don't live in Honors housing, OSU honors gets you priority scheuling for classes. That will be a huge advantage to graduating in less time. Depending on your major, you can get a direct admit to some of their specialty programs. For example, Business School direct admits Honors freshman to the major of your choice and even if you drop out of Honors sophomore year, you can still keep your major and continue in the Business school. OSU is gernerous with merit based aid and their required GPA to keep the aid for subsequent years isn't so bad.</p>
<p>The school spirit and sports teams make for great school pride. Columbus is, I think, the 15h largest city in the US so there's alot to do off campus in terms of food, ports and culture.</p>
<p>The down side: if you are from Michigan (as your screen name suggests) you will have to learn to hate yourself, your family, your high school friends and everyone in your whole state. On my campus tour, the OSU students could not stop talking about Michigan.</p>

<p>Btw, I am not from Michigan..my screen name just stands for "University of California at Michigan"..yeah its stupid. Just wanted to combine the two schools' names together.
I heard that osu hated the school UMich not the state.. I could be wrong :P</p>

<p>I wouldn't be too sure about that. I heard on my campus tour that the grating covers inside Ohio Stadium were made in a town in Michigan and had "(Town Name), Michigan" written on them in raised letters. University authorities made the company file "Michigan" off all the gratings before installation could take place.</p>
<p>Hmmm... sounds familiar! I agree banis! We're for (not from there yet) OHIO!</p>
<p>I went to OSU.</p>
<p>Well -- it's big. And it the bigness of it teaches you to be self-sufficient. I am in grad school now and some of my classmates went to smaller more "individualized attention" schools. And they are the whiners who don't know how to take initiative. Going to OSU will teach you to be a go-getter no matter what your field.</p>
<p>Also. The quality of education (despite what you hear about OSU being a party-school, which it is) is good. My Subject GRE scores were >90th percentile. And I can recall exact specific examples in courses / lectures that were ON THAT TEST.</p>
<p>OSU has everything. Seriously. No matter what you're interested in, there is a group, an organization, a major, or a department dedicated to it and you'll find a critical mass of like-minded people. Have you SEEN the new RPAC Center?! The campus area is pretty nice too. My roommate took Judo once, boxing another time, table tennis. I took yoga, fencing, raquetball. These are 1 credit electives that don't count for anything. But where else are you gonna get the chance get instruction in these things for (essentially) free?</p>
<p>School Spirit & Football. Nothing like being in a stadium of 100,000 of your closest friends. Whenever I travel, I come across fellow Buckeyes. OSU is the largest school in the country, so there's recongnition, you tell someone that you went to OSU and they will say, "Oh yeah, I knew this guy who went there." And if it's a positive opinion (which it usually is) then it's good for you.</p>
<p>-great (business, poli sci)- good (most others) academics
-lot's of majors to choose from.. everything from arabic to agricultural enginering
-fun, outgoing, good looking and smarter-than-you-think laid back people
-Good diversity
-amazing sports
-amazing amout of clubs and organisations
-plenty of people, so you will never be lonely or bored
-plenty of great/beatiful places to hang out on campus(lot's of campus is not to special)
-Columbus is a cool town, and the capital of Ohio... i think
-There is always a party, but there are always plenty of places to recreate without drinking etc.
-School Spirit second to none
-With being one of the most populated schools in the US for the past decades... it must have a decent alumni program.

<p>You'd think those chamber of commerce types would be more creative.</p>
<p>lol... i wasn't referring to a campaign but a song... but still, those people do lack the necessary creativity to launch a good campaign . . . well atleast it's not like "the great leap forwards 2" or "return of the cultural revolution".
