Well, I was just looking at the demographic breakdown at Stanford vs HYP, and I saw that Stanford has a 25% Asian population, whereas HYP has 1/2 as much, 13-17% Asians. Additionally, the black and hispanic populations at Stanford are greater than those of HYP. Anyone know why? Does Stanford practice more aggressive affirmative action policies than HYP? Can anyone speculate as to why this is true?

They may, but I think a significant impact is the geographic distribution of the applicant pool. With many applicants from CA, it makes sense that more students would be Asian than at other Universities (think of how the UC's are).

the west coast is more diverse than the east coast. stanford is on the west coast.

Is there a problem with diversity? lol.
