It's close to final, while studying in the liberary, I cannot stop thinking that why study is so boring? How those people who reach high GPAs overcome this? How do they make it? Won't they think the more we study, the more boring our lives are going to be? Many of my friends are haveing parties and fun, and their lives seem to fine too. So what are our goals and are all these hous spent in liberary really worth it?
(I know this problem is not supposed to be here, but I just so curious) Thanks a lot!

well for me, i never cram. I study a litte bit everyday so when finals time comes around Im not spending every waking moment studying

sounds to me like you don’t actually enjoy learning, just the social aspect of school. if that’s the case then get out so those who actually want to better themselves can have the means to do so.

If you love what you are learning, then there is no such thing as studying.

That’s true, but one can not always pick the class he likes right? Sometime the class and lecture are just very boring like music and art.

To paraphrase the President: You’re not going to like every class. Now, get back to work.

i dont think i’ve ever enjoyed a single class in my life… except maybe psychology but my grades weren’t exactly good in that class. the fact that i liked it didnt motivate me to study at all haha

If that’s the case, you’ve got to think about whether or not you should be attending college at this point in time. College isn’t for everybody, and some people (myself included) appreciate college after they’ve spent some time to work, travel, etc. and have a better idea of what they want to do with their life.

I agree with hellojan (and the Pres.) that sometimes you have to do some things that don’t particularly interest you. However, if you’re finding close to nothing interesting, then you’re wasting your (or your parent’s) time and money.

very good point and i understand that but dropping out of college or even taking a leave of absence is out of the question for me. my parents would kill me haha

are they paying for your school? can you pay for your own school? If you can respond with a “yes” to either then do whatever you want.

At first I was ****ed that my parents arent paying for any of my schooling, but now i feel like i dont have a burden: Being financially independent has its benefits for the individualist. I can only imagine how many parents dictate their child’s future against the child’s wishes just because they have the money; it makes me cringe. It’s just a game of control. Thats all anything is.
