UCI's website for nursing has an article that talks about how 42 people got in with an average GPA of 3.83 total

UC Irvine Honors Inaugural Class of Nursing Students

why is it that hard to get into their nursing program, since they only let in a small amount of people with near 4.0 GPAs, or is there something i've overlooked?

My friend is in UCI’s nursing program and from my understanding it is very small since it is a brand new program. Many of the profs and classes have never been taught to undergrads. My friend says admins are just going with the flow and seeing how things are working, adjusting the program as neccessary. I believe they are also starting a Master’s degree sometime soon.

haha do you think yuo can ask your friend if its hard to go into the program?

It’s a new program that will be adding faculty and classes as they go along. The Law School will start small with a very carefully chosen class, too. The first classes are important in creating the school’s reputation and traditions.

does anyone know how much people/what gpas they have currently accepted this year?

I really want to go to a UC, but i have a uc gpa of 3.4-3.5. Would admissions give me a “better” chance in attending UCI because i am trying to major in nursing, or do they not care about what majors you apply for? :(
