I think it deserves a spot up there. Both Tufts and UNC-Chapel Hill are rated 28th in US News National Rankings for 2008. UNC is up there, so why isn't Tufts?

moderators, move us up!

no disrespect intended, but you're getting way too caught up in artificial bs. stop looking at those highly controversial numbers coming out of USNews and enjoy your school ! YOU know what Tufts is, so stand by it! may we all see the day when USNews is exposed for what it does and how it contrives what it does! Drew University's president has been written up in Time, among others trying to turn this around, tho it'll be a huge uphill battle.

It's.

Just.

A.

Website.

Ah yes, you're not the first to wonder. In the end, what does it matter? Like Happycollegemom said, you know what Tufts is, the caliber of its students, so it really shouldn't matter.

Hey DH9800, don't get caught up with false indicators of prestige. USNews has been riddled with controversy for it's faulty formula and desire to squeeze some money out of competitive admissions. The moment you work alongside some Tufts' students, you'll know exactly what we're talking about: world-class scholars.

If you really want, you can PM the moderators.

I did about a year ago, and the admin basically told me the schools in CC's top unis list is more or less random. He did say Tufts was the school most people wrote to them about adding to the list. It doesn't seem they are going to change the list though -- otherwise they already would have.

Hmmph, they really should add Tufts. It's a darn good school, as has already been discussed.

Does US News do anything besides crank out arbitrary college reports? Do they cover any other areas, such as, like, maybe, news in the US?

Haha yes, they do. But they're notably far behind the top two newsweeklies, Newsweek and Time. That's why they do big "Ranking" issues for colleges, grad schools, hospitals, etc. -- to sell! It's all a make money scheme. (And isn't it always??)

I know athletes consider US News gold when in Europe...or was that USA Today?
