Women’s colleges are generally self-selecting, in that students don’t tend to apply unless they see themselves to b e a very good fit. Students don’t get rejected, as much as reject themselves by not applying.
Can’t speak to financial aid for internationals. I do know that some very very wealthy internationals are accepted and pay full rate in order to offer discounts to US students. 20% internationals means good discounts for US kids.
@MADad I used to think that but Barnard’s acceptance rate is now down to 12% and rumors are it will fall into the single digits this year. But then again, Barnard is part of Columbia so that may explain it.
Women’s colleges in general are back in vogue after being flat on admissions for quite a while. Mt Holyoke had its largest class ever this past year (and has had several years of bigger than expected class size) so likely the acceptance rate will fall. Smith’s acceptance rate has been falling as well. I was reading an article where an admissions person at a women’s college said years back she would have to explain to prospective women that someday they would look back and really appreciate the experience and value of this type of college experience…but in recent years women seem to get it without explanation.
It would be sad if a person who thinks it’s correct to say, “Why it has so high acceptance rate” and “How is the fin aid for international here” gets accepted. I decided not to apply to Mount Holyoke because they direct too much aid to internationals. You’d probably get some if you got in.
Here are the most recent stats- admission rate dropped from 51% to 36%- average SAT 1410 average ACT 32. 80% admitted are top 20% of their class.

It was just a matter of time before the word got out about Mt Holyoke. I guess it is no longer a hidden gem.
Someone didn’t apply because they route significant aid to internationals? Really? You could also say that maybe they route too much to merit aid, or they spend too much on paper. I’m assuming you mean your NPC did not match what you wanted to pay. But blaming that on aid to internationals is a big projection on your part. (Or maybe your point is more nefarious and you just don’t want to attend a school with a significant international population?)

Have you tried writing in another language? If so, was it perfect?
