I guarantee you you will hate this kid after you watch this video (last year's spelling bee winner):
YouTube - Smart-Ass Spelling Bee Winner

lmao

good thing I go to real life school where I get to actually talk to people and learn things other than spelling

Watch Spellbound and you won’t hate everyone in the spelling bee!

Seriously, it is a VERY good documentary. I strongly recommend it.

Another perspective: “13-year-old boy”. Let’s not forget he is a young student.
How many 13 year-old kids or adults are fearless to appear in National TV?

I’m sure he will develop his social skills; however he already is a winner. A skill he can use in being a good writer or other professions. Best wishes to him!

I prefer kids engaging in something positive for their future, such as the spelling bee, than in drugs, idle time, or doing nothing…

dude… Evan O’Dorney is pro…

Evan O’Dorney is a BEAST at everything. Academic.

I know a kid who is exactly like him! Like exact same amount of awkwardness.

Okay check this one out, spelling bee kids are weird:
[YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.](YouTube)

He had a great sense of humor, and pretty gutsy to do a napolean dynamite in that situation!!

He’s… an interesting character.

I could’ve went to Washington many years ago; but then I heard a word that I had never seen before (fauna) and was one of the first people eliminated from the finalists of my city. Nowadays I don’t really give a damn about the spelling bee.

This kid is autistic, *******s.

Even if you didn’t know that, it is quite obvious that he has mental problems from just watching a few seconds of the video.

lol I went to the national geography bee when I was in 8th grade. There were some odd kids there, but some normal ones (of course they didn’t do as well for the most part)

Hilarious. And truly sad. Just another example of why homeschooling should be illegal.

Yea this kid’s not autistic, he suffers from HSS or Home Schooling Syndrome. It’s known to stunt social skills and cause awkward hand motions.

[YouTube - did he…did he say, niggas? (READ THE DESCRIPTION 1ST)](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGdCeMayUjk&feature=related)

HAHAHAHHAHA

Sorry if this offends anyone.

^Haha, I just saw that the other day.

Ah man, I actually feel bad for the kid.

I try to be nice to kids like him, but they’re always total *******s back.

Yeah me too. There are some kids that are just so awkward it’s hard to be nice to them because they can’t keep a conversation…poor kid

Honestly, I would probably be just as awkward as he was if I were in that type of situation. People who are very awkward in social situations aren’t necessarily arrogant or trying to be mean. I know that in my case, I can seem like I’m trying to avoid someone, even if I’m really interested in talking to them, simply because I don’t know how to make small talk or reply to simple greetings or continue conversations. It seemed like the kid was in that sort of situation.
