Why JHU?

I was deferred from my ED school, so now I have top think about other collegs. JHU is very high on my list based on academics, stats, etc....but I have never been to the campus (or even Baltimore, for that matter). I would like some of the JHU-lovers to explain what makes this school so great, because I will not have a chance to visit before I make a decision (if I were to be accepted)...THANKS!

also known as....u don't know what to write for the essays

actually....ive already submitted my app.....so thats not it....

i really actually truly want to learn about the school cause i have never and will never visit it before april

The campus is beautiful. Its a small, but not too small, school. You dont get lost in the crowd, but its not like you are stuck w/ a small group of people you hate. Nice location. Great program. Lots and lots of EC activities to keep you busy and intersted. Awesome because i will be there :) challenging but fun student life (i have friends who go there) i guess my question to you is, what do you want in a school, and i can tell you if they have it or not.. if you really want to know you should email current students (they have a contact thing on the website) cuz they would know more than us.

I don't like Baltimore as a city though =</p>

They have a nice gym

Great lacrosse program! If you don't like lacrosse, you will being a JHU student

Great! Thanks!

No, not a lacrosse fan (yet, I guess...)...

Great! Thanks!

No, not a lacrosse fan (yet, I guess…)…

The name. Johns Hopkins. Done. Win.

I am a current freshman and so far I have LOVED it. I really love the campus - the buildings are beautiful, especially the newly renovated Gilman (humanities building). The student population is not too big, which I like because we have a closer community (about 4,000 undergraduates) and I always say hello at least to 5 different people that I see on my way to places every day. I also love the diverse array of majors offered and having no core curriculum (which can make double majoring easier) - it really allows us to explore our interests. Lastly, I love how it’s so easy to get around Baltimore. I love to explore Baltimore. I usually take the College Shuttle which is free and it stops at popular places like the Inner Harbor (which you MUST check out), Towson Mall, or local colleges like Goucher, Loyola, Towson. Hope this helped and feel free to ask any more questions you might have!

Yikes this is an ancient thread from when I was applying to Hopkins

You can always count on the new posters to necro 6-year-old threads. ■■■■■ much?
