why my friends should listen to me

regarding CC.

constantly now that i've been on CC, and my friends and i talk about college, im mostly, like 95% of the time say, 'well, on college confidential, someone said this and this, and i think it makes sense because if you think about it...' and i go on. regarding virtually ANY college issue i always end up referring to this forum.

what don't my friends listen to me on? joining this site.

they'll end up agreeing with whatever i referenced to on this site, and they know about this forum too, but there is some resistance against them that makes them not join this site. so in the end, i relay the advice here on CC for them.

just join and find out for yourselves!

1) they don’t want to admit they’re dorky enough to have an account here

2) the same reason you can listen to your friends talk about politics all the time, but not care enough to actually read the news

Some forums like to beat the **** out of your ego.

For example, I just picked up playing bass a few months ago, and I had some cheap equipment. I felt like I was in another world when I joined Talkbass.com.

If your friends have a 2.0 GPA, they would probably feel the same way on CC.

^ well, i understand what you mean, but my mom wouldn’t let me have friends with 2.0 gpa’s lol

Maybe if you show them a few of my posts, or maybe a few of AOM’s posts, they won’t think we’re so dorky anymore.

^ hahah yeah right!!

i’d beg to differ, just kidding ;D

Then again, they might get repulsed by the melon post.

And they’ll definitely get repulsed by all those Pokemon references. Just tell them to stay away from High School Life.

^ i could tell them that..

but sometimes, i’m the only one out of them that does the thing that ends up, in a most obvious sense, being the RIGHT choice

who could resist a forum that has tons of info and has a smart environment? lol

Dumbasses

10 char

They’re probably already lurkers on the forum, or as I like to call 'em, stalkers.

my friends absolutely NEVER listen to me, even when I give them the most basic, logical advice.

I actually had a fight with one of my best friends because she tried to tell me she was taking her SAT IIs in September. I calmly, and not arrogantly, suggested that there wasn’t any SAT testing date in September. She absolutely went ballistic at me for no reason.

so that’s a tad worse than just not joining the site. personally, it’s always a little weird to join a forum and talk to a RL friend on that forum…at least it was awkward for me & my friend

Let your friends live in their fantasy land(s).

I should take my SAT IIs, but I would rather let ACT get my money for a change.

^^^ I was one of those for 2 months, till I finally got the nerve to join!

I keep like talking to my best friend about this and she had me make her an account yesterday.

Introduce her to the SAT forum for a few weeks before she even comes near High School Life.

Mm-kayy. I’ll try to, but I don’t know how well that is going to work.

“^ well, i understand what you mean, but my mom wouldn’t let me have friends with 2.0 gpa’s lol”

LOL, typical 한국 여자.

I wouldn’t want friends who had less than a 2.0 gpa unless there was something ummm . . . wrong? with them.

Or typical Asian mother in general.

my problem is that i like the anonymous feature - my friends and i dont share sat scores, etc - and so i try not to talk about it with them. i think for a couple of people who know me well, it would be fairly simiple to match me up to my cc name
