Why no ED??

Why doesn't Notre Dame have a binding Early Decision program??/

Im sure there would be plenty of applications......

why not?

Don't know their "official" reason but I would guess it's because primarily it's the #1 dream school for most of its applicants. So many of its accepted students decide to come - which even led to overbooking in the '10 class. Just a guess.

i don't know why they don't, but i think it's interesting that all of the top catholic schools (ND, Georgetown, BC, Villanova, etc.) have EA instead of ED. just an observation.

ya i know....

I really want to know why but I think it has something to do with irish_hopeful's explanation

Why does it matter? I much prefer the concept of EA to ED.

Look at ND's matriculation rate, it is as high or higher than most of those schools which have ED. ED is used to raise that matriculation rate, since it used to be a big part of the US News rankings, but ND just has never needed that boost.

ohhh gotcha.....
