For those who are already in college or who are applying, what did you guys put for why do you want to attend NU? What makes it special?

to tell you the truth ...i bs'd it, i know it is horrible but i didnt really cared that much about NU at the time...I still got in and i am loving it here so i don't think it matters that much
though i do remember mentioning mccormick and other engineering stuff...idk
i've heard of people being like really specific and mentioning profs they want to study under and stuff like that. anyway, if you've read anything about NU i a sure you can come up w/ enough reasons to write your essay (btw is it even an essay or is it more like 2 paragraphs?

it's short, only 1000 characters. just go on the website and find some unique aspects of NU/specific college.

I didn't want to lie on it by researching something and saying I'm actually excited about it. At the same time, though, I couldn't think of anything too specific. I just decided to write about the buzzword in college talk right now: diversity.

Obviously your reason should be Kaplan Humanities Scholars Program

:P

stress that you want the quarter system

Where do you go to research more about Northwestern? Because I got the Northwestern book thing, but it just has really general knowledge, nothing of which I can make a good essay. Do you use wikipedia?

Wikipedia and College Prow1er's books are great.
