^wow, a NJ public school that finally figured out what NY schools have known all along…Numeric averages already individually weighted on transcripts will undoubtedly help their students in college admissions…No college is going to take the time to unweigh each and every one of your classes…HUGE advantage in admissions…with those SAT scores, you should be fine…

7 year meds may be reaches, but as I said…you’ll be fine…

Would you be willing to PM me with the school? I am a parent, just so you know…and I’m really curious which NJ high school uses this type of transcript. (actually doing a very informal analysis…)

highschooler09, thanks, man. i hope you’re right

rodney, haha, i’m not sure i know what you mean, but if you’re saying the grades for each class are weighted, they’re not lol. just the gpa. the weightage is only added in when finding the gpa. lol, sorry for the confusion. but yea, i’m kinda worried about the med programs because volunteering is my only medical activity… thanks

^ thanks for the clarification, smeagz…my mistake…the med programs are ridiculously competitive, but it doesn’t hurt to try…

Given that scenario, do you have a safety? I just realized that alot of your schools and programs have insanely low admission rates (and unfortunately have plenty of NJ applicants…)

Does GW, TCNJ, etc. put you in the regular pool if you are not admitted to the program? If yes, you have your safeties…

Does GW, TCNJ, etc. put you in the regular pool if you are not admitted to the program? If yes, you have your safeties…

yea, they do. regular tcnj is my safety (not even considering lehigh, drexel, bu, miami, or gw without med)
i think i have a good shot at at least drexel med. my sis goes there, and my app is much better than hers was

sounds like you are all set…good luck!
(I actually didn’t realize that if you are not accepted into special med programs you are automatically considered for regular admission-thanks for the info…)

yea, in fact, you have to be accepted to just the college, then you are considered for the med program
