<p>My first goal in life is to get into a great med school, but it is obviously very difficult. So my question is why not major in a subject like accouting. This way, if I do not get into med school, I will still have a solid degree. I am sure the pre med requirements can be done on the side as electives. Why is this a bad idea? I really need a backup in case I don't get into med school!</p>
<p>If you have a degree in Sciences you can still get into a Medical school overseas, this is much easier and cheaper. Most U.S rejects do this. After you get your MD, you can come back to US take the USMLE and go for 2 years and become a doctor in the states.</p>
