just wondering why you guys like nyu

Why NYU? Because ironically, they gave me the most money. Oh I'm sorry, did you want reasons so you could write them in your application?

...no. i actually haven't started or looked at the application. i'm just using common app. i'm just in the mist of finalizing my college list and was looking for some input about the school.

goyoungha, I LOL'D. :D To be totally honest, that was one of my major reasons as well.

However, heycap354, NYU is certainly not full of money-grubbers such as myself and goyoungha. :) One of the things I really love about this school is the "Hey, we're in NYC... let's get involved!" attitude. If getting involved to you means fervently watching the latest anime out of Japan, there's a club for you. If you're hardcore about human rights, we've got a few groups on campus looking to stop the situation in Darfur. If you have a burning admiration for John McCain, we've got Republican groups, too. Whatever you're interested in or whatever you want to do, you can do it here at NYU. (Hey, that rhymes!)

Of course, it doesn't hurt that the education is pretty good, too.

Haha, I'm sorry heycap but if you haven't already noticed, I have a sort of twisted humor. (Which some people prefer to call insanity)

It's not in California.

" New York City "

what do u mean it's not in california.

No duh it's not in california
nobody said anything about it.

New York University...
what'd u think it stood for

BIGTWIX, I think the joke's on you. futurenyustudent meant that they applied to NYU because it was not in their home state of California, ie. they wanted to get away from home.

Exactly...although that's not the only reason. If I wanted to get as far away as I can from CA, then I would have applied to the University of Melbourne lol.

Its in New York. Thats probably the main reason why I wanna go there. California is so boring...

NYU has a great business and arts program (Sterna dn Tisch College). I dont relaly like the smell of New York but I grew up in New York so I got used to it. I mean why would you put garbage out ont eh streets? Lol

Hmmm... try to write this on the application

"It was the only school that I was accepted"

^lmfao. That would throw them off completely eh? Lol

You call this college confidential. i was looking for help and i didnt find it here
if some body please give me examples of answers to that question that would be most appreciated. NOW why NYU ?

Are you looking for people to give you answers to the essay for the NYU application?

Seriously… some of us are parents helping our kids research the best schools. We are in Florida and only trying to learn more about NYU. I’m all for jokes and can tolerate sarcasm until it wastes my time. I’d like to know what NYU is most known for? My daughter is torn between law and medicine and very set on applying to NYU. So, I want to know if NYU is worth the expense. So WHY NYU?

NYC is like the melting pot of the United States. There’s just so much culture there-they have a lot of international people at NYU and obviously the city is packed with more than just the average American. There are also so many opportunities for internships and NYU has been successful in graduating people and getting them decent paying jobs.

You’ll never be bored at NYU…there’s always so much to do in both the day and night.

a lot of traditional college campuses are very isolating. they coddle you and you’re out of touch with what’s really going on in the real world. going to NYU matures you, it makes you more tolerant and more culturally aware. you learn from the city as much as you learn from your classes.
