I checked my scholarship status recently and found that i have recieved the pegasus silver scholarship, but i thought my stats were good enough for the gold.
Is there anything i can do? Will they reconsider upon my honors college application?
Thanks.

WOW – I am trying to maintain my composure……You have been offered a scholarship were a majority of your fees are paid if you attend UCF and you are still complaining! Granted you did well academically in high school, but if you were to apply to UF, you’d probably be offered nothing! Let me guess, your family is part of the 47 % ???
DUDE, be grateful !!!

Because 2 years ago, that would be high enough for Provost (the highest in state award besides National Merit). Not sure what they want now. They might still be waiting for applicants before handing them out.

Some here may think like I sound like an idiot, but honestly, what makes this applicant so important.
Wouldn’t it be more practical for UCF to offer 20 deserving kids $1,500 in scholarship money rather than one kid a full ride in scholarship money.
Wake up OP, money is tight for everyone, even for UCF !

UCF has to compete with UF and all of the other in state universities for students. If UCF gave that much the brightest students, then most of them opt for UF, for the sole reason that UF has a better reputation. If UCF offers a significant amount of money, then they can pull students who would have not attended otherwise.

Essentially, handing out 8 scholarships and having none attend is worse than giving one scholarship to one who does attend.

Lol not trying to be a stuck up prick, it’s just weird how they would give gold to some students whose stats are lower than mine, then give me silver. I’m content but if there’s anything I can do to get the gold, I’d obviously do it. That’s why I made a thread on college confidential.

@ waketoblake, don’t apologize for working hard in school and wanting more money to offset your college expenses. If others were in the same situation, they’d feel and want the same thing. Congratulations on your success!

I want some scholarship money as well. So I’m praying. ;)

If your family properly planned for your college expenses, then you should also have access to Florida Prepaid, the 529 plan and Florida Bright Futures which combined with your Silver should cover 100 % of all your tuition, fees, housing, board and books. Are you seriously going to ask for more from UCF ? I’d love to read how UCF responds.

wake2blake–Why not look out of state at certain private schools. 4.8 GPA, 2110 SAT is decent. Retake the SAT and gun for 2200+. Now, you are talking competitive for $$'s at certain “fancy” schools.

Congrats!!! well deserved! Do you mind telling how much did you get? I don’t know the scholarships by name. My son was awarded the Hispanic Scholar scholarship. I think that’s all he will get, but I am grateful. It dies not appear anywhere in his “myucf”. Where did you see you’re?
