Why Penn essay

If you are applying wharton, and you know you will be taking most wharton courses, then is it OK if you just mention business courses for the part of the essay that asks you courses that interests you? I mean, it doesn’t make sense to me why you have to lie and start praising other courses that you know you won’t take.

I know you don’t just talk about wharton school, but the uni itself, but i have heard how people say you need to talk about courses other than wharton

I think a lot of Wharton applicants talk about Wharton a lot in their essay and I'd think that could include classes. But I'm also not a Wharton applicant so I wouldn't really know.......

You should write about the courses you truly desire to take. For instance, in my Why Penn? essay I discussed my interest in taking Management 100 (required for all Wharton Freshmen). You don't necessarily need to talk about courses from the other schools. Just talk about the courses you are truly interested in.

I talked about the various courses that I was interested in, and tied the core requirements at Penn in with my current Lib Arts curriculum at secondary school. I kept it brief though--about 2/3 of a page, double-spaced.

I also mentioned that I was always interested in going to Penn, as my uncle is an alumnus (cheap way of slipping in a pseudo-legacy) and would occasionally talk about his time there at family dinners.

wow jpps1, that is a VERY brief essay. thats like 250 words

yea that is pretty damn short...mine was 850...but thats def on the longers side

Sorry, I meant single-spaced.
