Why Princeton in an interview?

I've been thinking a lot about what to say in an interview for "why Princeton?" Of course, I know (but don't really want to list out my reasons here), but I was wondering about some of the specific reasons YOU prefer Princeton. I'm interested in majoring in history, so fellow history nerds speak up!

Also, problem: I was accepted SCEA at a rival school - should I tell my interviewer or no? If I do, what should I say? Ultimately, it and Princeton were my top two choices, and quite frankly, I don't know where I would have applied if Princeton had a non-binding program.

Thanks!

In the interview I listed four reasons:

close to home

good financial aid

nation's top 10 comp sci program

top tier overall academics

Unless you're asked, I don't think you should mention any other schools you applied to. You never know how the interviewer may react.

For example, my MIT interviewer openly boasted about MIT's purported superior educational techniques over HYP. Thus if I mentioned to him that I applied to Princeton ED, that would have made the interview go down the drain.

i wouldnt mention it. which school were u accepted to scea?

Stanford : )

I have the same problem. I was accepted to Yale EA....so what if they do ask? Should we just say that we were accepted...but then quickly switch to why Pton is an excellent fit for us? I'm worried...because someone I know said they do ask this stuff...kind of just at-the-end-of-the-interview conversation. I hope we aren't put at a disadvantage for this.

do u request an interview for Pton, or do they asign u one, and if they assign one, how do they decide which applicants have interviews and which dont?...

Everyone gets the interview as soon as he/she submits the app, as long as there's an interviewer in his/her area.
