For those of you who applied/got accepted/planning to attend why did you pick PSU? What is so good about it?

great engineering and just great overall :)
low in-state tuition
favorite football team since i was a kid

Though Ill have to wait a few months to decide where i want to go ;)

I want to major in math. Is this the place to be?

I think they're good in math & science as well ;)

smeal has a good business program. Even though I am in maryland everyone form my school applies. The second most only to University of Maryland. I felt I had a good chance of getting in and I knew the answer would come back quick so I really wanted to get in somewhere so i wouldn't have to worry as much.

PSU is very good for engineering and it also has a very strong acrigulture department.

I am having a hard time choosing between PSU and UMD. Which has a prettier campus? Which has a cleaner campus/facilities? and MOST importantly...which has better girls?

PSU is definitely a prettier campus. Both of my parents went there and I have been visiting state college since I was a child. I also visited UMD this past fall, and I can tell you that most college campuses can't compare to PSU. It is very beautiful and kept together nicely. Every building at maryland looks exactly the same. In regards to the surrounding town, PSU is definitely a college town. Maryland is not as safe and has a high crime rate.
And i can't really help you in the girl situation hahah

well i think both schools have plenty of pretty girls since they are big schools.

Id personally choose PSU (But it may be becuz Im from Penn :P)

Maryland comes back next week. I am in Penn State so i will have the same problem if i get into maryland. My cousin goes to maryland and he said the only difference b/w Penn State and UMCP is that one is in Pennsylvania and the other is in Maryland.

I got into an honors business program at penn so that my tip it but i am poor. I can't afford the billion dollars Penn State wants. I turned in my fafsa and should get a package soon. I got a 1400 efc so i should get some help from both schools but i will have to see.

Well i'm instate and PSU-UP is a safety for me, but i still like the school a lot. Sadly, i haven't had the chance to visit but a lot of my friends are up their (some in the honors program). Basically, if you want to go to grad school, penn state itself is recognized by most of the world and it's a good undergrad pick if you want to go to grad school. Plus psu is a good option for grad school, and for instate tuition who can complain right?

Only problem is that their tuition is going up a lot. It's gone up by like 2k every year in the last 3 years, and i think thats insane...

I chose PSU because it was In-State Tuition. Pretty well ranked academically. A very good match for me because I had good academic stats 1260 SAT and a 91 average BUT I had practically no EC's service activites, no job and I only play basketball.

Plus I like the idea of a Big College where your bound to find some people like you and have Fun. Small Colleges I've heard can be almost like High School and I DID NOT want that. Plus It has the name recognition crap.

AND I really liked the Tour and it seemed like a wonderful place to be, Top Notch Facilities, Great Environment, Plus PSU Football (which I have to say I wasn't a Penn State Football junkie ((((meaning I was neutral about PSU Football)))),, but It's not like having the best game experience in the nation is a Bad thing being a sports fan I can see the Benefits.

And How about PSU's win against Illionois. with 8 freshman Should we venture a guess that we'll be going to the Big DANCE during my Stay at PSU??? How cool would that be.

PSU is Just a perfect fit for me. I think it can get me where I want to go.... excet being Undecided I still don't know where that is at this point.

Plus, who doesn't love Joe Pa or the Nittany Lion?
