I know when asked before what school you'd like to go to if you don't get into princeton, many including myself said Cornell. I was wondering why you prefer Princeton over Cornell. I mean Cornell is a great school as well, why not apply there early. I was presented with that question by a friend but had difficulty putting my answer into words. I visited Princeton and something about the atmosphere just clicked with me. I'd love to hear your thoughts about it.

well, maybe people think that if they applied to pton early, they'll have a much better chance to get in while they think that they can get into cornell RD anyway. I guess they felt ED was worth it for better chances.

All schools are an individual fit. To me, Princeton would win out easily against Cornell because of its strong undergrad focus, happy student life, prestige factor, traditions of intellectual rigor (junior paper, senior thesis, research opps), creative writing depts, science depts, lush campus, suburban location, lots of history, tons of ECs, money and willing faculty to fund/support its students in their passions/desired opportunities, and a great med school record ahehehe - factors which are more important and more positive to some people than others. It just seemed like a school where all doors opened. However, to others, different factors are important, or they believe that the things I found great about Princeton was more true at Cornell.

mea: are you sure you are only 18?....You reason with great maturity.

Cornell wasn't even on my radar when I applied, though Yale was a close 2nd. I think the most convincing factor was the campus visit. Yale was disappointing to me after the virtual tour pics, but Princeton was absolutely stunning.

(thank you simba : )!)
