Hey everyone. I've recently been admitted to Wisconsin Madison and UConn but i'm having a very difficult time choosing which one to attend. I'm on the east coast, about 5 hours away from UConn, but location and cost are not really an issue. I plan on majoring in polisci and perhaps econ. Why do you guys think I should choose UConn over Wisc? Thanks.

I don't know much about either school, but location probably favors UCONN..... I am not sure what is in Wisconsin. More opportunities in the Northeast.

No offense to UConn, because it's a fine school, but unless money is a serious consideration and UConn's net cost is substantially less, I would go to Wisconsin-Madison. Wisconsin-Madison is definitely a top 10 public -- UConn, although it's moving up the rankings, is definitely not and isn't going to be in Wisconsin-Madison's league for a while, if ever. Obviously, there are lots of factors to consider in deciding which school to choose, but if academic reputation and name recognition are high on your list, choose Wisconsin-Madison.

Wisconsin madison is better than uconn. However you should look into the strength of the programs you are going into. It was not justifiable for me to spend 20k more to attend U mich or U.V.A since the sciences and psychology programs are sound. For example, the arts program at Uconn is not as strong as these two. I think, econ. is a great program. It is through the school of buis. here. I would look for the rankings through u.s news. It is also imprt. if you will enjoy the school also.
