hey guys, these are my two top choices so i was just looking for some really good, and even bad, things about SC convincing me to go here instead of michigan.

it's not cold at usc. end of discussion.

Where are you from? Both are great schools with different atmospheres. Ann Arbor is a smaller college town whereas USC you get Los Angeles. If you want to live somewhere with 4 seasons choose michigan. Although I'm from Michigan and I cant wait to go to USC.

ya I'm from la, i live like 5 minutes away from westwood village and I like that there's always something to do...
my first choice is still USC but so many of my friends are looing at michigan now, which is my number 2, so its just so confusing.
also is anyone here in the Music Industry BS major who would like to let me know how it is?

UMichigan is really huge--try to visit, especially in the winter & see if you can imagine yourself there. It is a great school that my parents, sisters & brother-in-law all attended. For folks who aren't use to cold, snow & winter, it can be quite an adjustment to go to Michigan.

By the way, have you been ACCEPTED at either/both schools? If not, this discussion is a bit premature.

Would you choose USC spring semester or Loyola Marymount fall?

What do YOU want? The schools are quite different, as we've toured both. My S found Loyola too small for his tastes and is very happy at USC. I understand that it's nice to start in the fall with everyone else, but there are quite a few Spring Admits at USC & folks are busy making friends in the spring as well. I'd go & tour both schools & figure out where YOU would be happiest.

Both are great schools, but there is more to do at the larger campus of USC than Loyola & quite a few of those kids come over to USC on weekends to "hang out," if they can get transportation down the hill, I've heard. On the other hand, I've heard that some folks at both schools leave campus entirely & head home or elsewhere for weekends. My S & his friends hang out on or near USC campus most of the time, as they live quite far from LA.

By the way, what field are you planning to study? Generally, I believe USC is a bit tougher to get into & transfer into than Loyola.

Good luck!
