Why should I go to UW (honors)?

Hey, is there anyone who was accepted to the Honors Program? I was, and was wondering if anyone is seriously considering it and why. I really didn't want to go to UW because of the whole in-state big-school thing, but now this is looking like a pretty good deal. If anyone has any advice/ insight on the situation, that would be great!

Congratulations! UW Honors is incredibly selective, so you must be quite the student! The Honors program is supposed to be like a small college within the huge University. My understanding is that the core classes are much smaller, like 15-30 students. I think there is also much attention from advisors/guidance counselors, plus there is a special set of floors in one of the dorms for Honors students, so you have the opportunity to get to know the others easily. I would definately recommend that you look into it. Check with your school counselor, and also someone from UW admissions to get more information to find out if it's a good match for you. I'll bet you've also gotten offers from other schools, so you'll have to decide what you really want. My son didn't get selected for Honors, so he'll be in the vast teeming horde of freshmen!

the question has the same answer as to Why should you go to college? Because u want a higher and better education

I was accepted into the UW Honors program as a sophomore and think that the simple fact that you're a Honors student makes you more respectable when you want to approach a prof for a research project or something along the lines fo that.

If I applied and got accepted I would do it. Wish I didn't listen to my "counselor".

Does anyone know the statistics of getting into honors at the U? and what kind of stats?
