Why should you cancel AP scores?

When your sending the scores to admissions, you can send the individual report for each test, and just not send the others, right? Do colleges have a way of seeing all your AP scores?

Otherwise I don’t see why you would cancel it, unless you marked down on the test that you wanted it to be sent to colleges, and then changed your mind.

bump shmump

interesting question, so I checked CBs site. I think it says that Cancellation eliminates the test permanently, so you can never get it back. But you can also request in writing (and pay $$ naturally), that a grade be witheld from your grade report.

for what its worth, a GC once said that it is better to get a 1 on the test, than not take it....

dont cancel your tests. ever.
i made that mistake

even if it's a 1?

Usually no one sends their AP scores to colleges until after they are accepted and know that is the school they want to go to. The only people who do usually send scores are people that have mostly 5's and want to help their admission. It is no big deal if you do not send them, and it really isn't worth it to send them before being accepted. Therefore, it does not make sense to ever cancel your scores because they don't really play a big role in admission.

But you can suppress a test score so it isn't sent to the colleges (is this what you are asking). It costs a few extra $$.
