<p>@ucbalumnus, oh I’m a 10 or near it. That’s probably the major part of how I’ve survived this long. (And back in the old days, I thought the productivity range was said to be about 30 to 1. Possibly modern tools have shrunk this?)</p>
<p>I agree with you that simply replacing a team of near 10s with an outsourcing contract to India will tend to blow up in management’s face. It’s not a cost savings when the team size has to greatly increase to get the work done. I’ve seen this happen, more than once. The latest efforts at moving jobs overseas are getting more sophisticated, however.</p>
