Why so few Haverford commenters?

I believe HC Alum is the good looking one in the khaki colored suit. Not a whole lot of hair to tie chicken bones! ;)

Sorry for the confusion. Not my wedding, but I’ll keep your good wishes because, like good wine, it improves with age for when I do get hitched. :)

Some people should remain anonymous on CC… parents (don’t want to embarrass your kids), applicants (don’t want to shoot your foot by accident) and students (safety and security issues)… but for established alumni who are here to answer questions about their experience (and happen to know a little Judo), anonymity is not a big deal. Haverford is many things but anonymous isn’t a word I’d ever use.

Archermom- 1st, you and your husband being the likely chauffer for 3 and now 2 kids @ different schools with LA’s traffic!… not something I envy… although probably enjoyable on some parental level. Yes, that’s me bumbling down the hill with my friends and… awe shucks… regarding your other comment… although, by coincidence, I think my mom may have told me something like that once too. :)

Yes. The most important lesson HC taught me was that chicken bones do not belong in one’s hair but rather belong in a compost heap.

The bride is a good friend and someone whom I greatly admire. She may not appear it, but she’s one of the most quirky, hilarious and tenacious people I know although @ HC, she wouldn’t have immediately struck you as those things. She went to, what I consider, the most prestigious boarding school in America… “preppy” by every standard. Despite such a background, she worked for Teach for America for several years after college in a greatly underserved and somewhat violent area in LA at her request. Although she did not share a racial, cultural and economic background with her students, she was able to foster a trust and respect with them and made an impact on their lives. She’s now a heme/onc fellow.

Now, as I’ve spent far too much time here on CC this week, got to go… and wish me luck on my resolution to not post for at least another week!
