Well I've gotten to the question on the application asking why I want to got to Stanford. I'm not sure what they are looking for. Also I would like to know more about stanford so anyone who has info on it, I would appriciate some help.

The question about what you want your roommate to know about you has stumped me. Anyone know what sort of things they are looking for?

For why stanford, go surf stanford's website and if you get the chance, go visit the campus. Write about unique things that stand out at Stanford and no where else. What really draws you there (if rankings/prestige are the only things, then you have some thinking to do).

For the roommate, it can be anything really. Just something that shows who you are -- it is really broad. For example a life experience, your humor, where you come from, etc. An example is I wrote about being vegetarian.

What they (and every other adcom) are looking for is some way to put a human face on the application - understand what makes you tick, what makes you different/interesting/special. Trying to write an essay "they are looking for" will make you look just like other 10,000 applicants that are trying to outsmart the system.
