I'm thinking about scrapping the entire thing, but it is different .. and I was wondering if it would work.

I have read repeatedly that schools want to see that you know about what their school offers and stuff (course and program-wise), but I don't say anything like that in my essay.

Well, post here and I'll PM it to you if you want to critique it. Thanks!

you know what..... this is making me all nervous. hahahaha. you crazy people... :P
i dont know what to do now.
but if you guys really think about it, my type of writing is not going to be consistent with any of yours, and ... it wont fit in with the rest of YOUR app. I mean, that's how it goes in general for anyone looking at anyone else's essay, right?

and what if i'm not in the class of '12? :P

i am just asking a question in general: do you think english teachers would be willing to read over essays like that, though? for some reason i keep thinking that most are extremely busy and would not really like to read through 2342349 essays from all their students. that's why i was thinking about PMing essays around. this thread is getting me quite paranoid. my parents are not that great at english, and my friends... well, they're technically in competition with me, so they wouldn't be the best people to ask. so who else is there to ask for feedback?!

Here is what I can say: find people that are already admitted and have gone through the process to send your essays to. You can PM me: I will be going to Stanford this fall, and was EIC for our high school newspaper.

You have to be very careful sending your essays out over the internet, since there will be people trying to take advantage of you. The thing is, getting feedback on them can be immensely valuable. Therefore there is a risk to be taken. There are plenty of people that have already gone through the process and are willing to help. Find them, use me, whatever.
