Ok, im taking some AP classes now for a couple of reasons. 1) Im interested in them 2) It might have something to do with what I want to major in AND 3) because colleges like to see that you challenge yourself. BUT! Should you only take AP's to impress colleges? If not, how many should you take? If so, how many?

There’s no set number of how many you “should” take, but figure if you’re shooting for HYP then two likely isn’t enough, assuming your school offers them all. Obviously it’s a bad idea to load up on APs just because you think they’ll look good for college. Do them if you can handle them, and if you think the challenge is something you want to take on! If physics is the most awful thing you could ever imagine, then AP Physics is clearly a bad idea, whether it’s because it’ll lead to bad grades or a year filled with agony.

Basically, just do what you feel is right for YOU. If you’re really good at english and history, then give those APs a shot, but don’t sign up for Calc BC if math is torture for you.
