I have no doubt that is what you have been told, why you have been told that is a good question.

Maybe I confused the company you're talking about, Noah. All I can say is that the following is from a letter sent to all TrojanHousing residents by the director of Housing, Jeff Urdahl a few days before move-in:

"In the past we have had a safe rental company that contracted
directly with residents. This company has just recently informed us they
will not be in business this year. As just fewer than 200 of our 6,500
residents actually used this service we are not sure this is a great loss,
but wanted to keep you informed. We do not have another company available
at this time. If a safe was important to you, we are sorry we cannot
provide a company to refer you to, and you may wish to purchase one of your
own for your room."

yeah, how did he get taped? i mean, who knew he was going to make a speech like that and conveniently brought a video camera? unless rine himself asked someone to video tape it.

It was a webcast for the class I believe. They release the video on the internet so people can watch the lecture later. It was just a segment from one of his lectures.

"within fifteen minutes the people in Redmond Washington were very interested to know why it was that the same version of Windows was being signalled to them from two different computers."

Funny. I can tell you that millions of people in Bangkok are using the same copy of Windows. Does Microsoft do anything? No, even when Bill Gates visited Thailand. It's been like that since the very first versions of Windows. For most people in Bangkok, their salaries are not even 1/4 of the price for a copy of Windows.

never been paid a penny by the company. one of the guys in the company has two kids in college, the oldest starting her juinor year at UCLA. I like the people in the company and think they have a good product for college kids and it's not too expensive so I thought I'd let people know.
