On the common application for transfer students, do they want you to write a specific why transfer essay for each university you're applying to or one general essay that they'll in turn submit to all of the universities?

Thanks!

Don't write one general essay for all. Write your reasons for transfer/objectives you hope to achieve like the question asks, but then add about why you want to go to each school. This will allow you to reuse a lot of it. It also depends on whether or not they have supplemental essays and if so, what those essays ask.

I am doing the common app for 2 schools, one has no supplemental essay, but the other does, and it is very school specific. For this reason, I am writing a lot about why I like school 1 in the personal statement since it is the only place to do so, but for school 2 I will delete all the info about school 1 and write why I fit at school 2 in its supplemental essay instead of the personal statement. My personal statement will be much more general for school 2 than school 1.
