why UC's keep rejecting me so far?

I’ve been rejected by UCSD and UCSB so far. Its discouraging since i always believed myself to be a top student. My gpa is 3.81 weighted and 3.6 unweighted. I’ve done lots of extracurriculars as well. I’m just wondering what’s wrong with me as I watch fellow students get accepted. Is it because my major?
I chose computer engineering. I’m waiting on UC Berkeley and UCI. Praying

There are other things on your app besides gpa - test scores, essay, and extra curriculars. But yes, I
would say it is a combination of your major and gpa. Students getting into top engineering programs in general have weighted gpas way over 4 and sats over 2200. I hope you have some safeties on your app list. Good luck to you.

My SAT is 1780, is it too late to change major?

Yes, each department has a limited number of slots for the major, and they’ve all made their decisions, so it would be too late to change the paperwork.

a 3.6/1780 is hardly “top student” level… hopefully your overestimation of your staets didn’t hinder you when you applied to match schools. Not saying 3.6 is very low, but nowadays it’s lackluster especially for engineering at UCs.

Don’t worry, i got rejected from UCSB with a 2000 (750M, 630CR, 620W) and a 3.75 UW and 4.3 W (Capped) GPA along with many many good EC’s

Average UC weighted GPA for all the schools you have applied is 4.0+ and SAT score of 1900+. If you are planning to major in Engineering, your Stats need to be above the average for a fighting chance. Do you have any backups? Whom ever helped you with your college list gave you much misinformation in regards to possible Matches. If you are ELC eligible (top 9%) of HS class or state, you will be offerred admission to UCM if there is room. Good Luck and I hope you get in somewhere.
