Hi! I’ve decided to create this thread to see why students are choosing the University of Michigan for college. I know there are threads about weaknesses and strengths, but none of those address why YOU chose Michigan. All answers are appreciated, and Go Blue!
I know it’s not even 12 hours old, but boost

I’ll bite. I chose UMich b/c of relatively cheap tuition + great education + dream school + close to home. It was a relatively easy choice considering those 4 big factors and honestly my love for this school has only grown ever since I arrived.
Ok. Here’s why my daughter chose UMich

We are OOS but It’s a train not a plane ride away. Train travel is very flexible. You can cancel and change last minute with no penalty.

Many kids from our area go so she had at least a passing acquaintance with a good number of people.
3)It has an active Greek System that was much easier to penetrate than some schools ( e.g. Indiana)

Many Alumni in our area and they are OBSESSED with Michigan which helps tremendously when looking fir a job.

Great easy to access on foot campus town.

A belief in its own greatness that seems to work to make a lot of things run well.
