Why Vanderbilt and Academic Interest Essay...question

Hey guys, in my Why Vanderbilt essay, I have mentioned clubs, organizations, ,several internships, programs, etccc... but as I am writing my academic interest essay, I may have to basically restate some of the academic programs and internships in the essay to show why I want to go to Vanderbilt. Thus, do you think saying a program again in both essays a bad thing?

I don't necessarily think it is a bad thing as long as your two essays aren't too similar.

I recommend expressing in your academic interest essay, as strongly as you can, your interest in intellectual inquiry. Vanderbilt seeks students who will contribute and benefit from its vibrant learning environment. I suspect they ask this this question to distinguish between those students who seek education as opposed to those who merely seek a college experience and diploma.

As a graduate of both Vanderbilt and ND, I recommend Vanderbilt if you seek an excellent education.

im planning to go undecided, then wat do i write as academic interest.. i dont know what i want tahst y im goin undecided!! how do tehy expect me to have any particular academic interets! :(
anyways how are teh college papaers, magazines there.. i wirte a lot and wanma continue there too.. btw read the slant.. its hilarious!

Hasn't the deadline already passed? Or does this mean you are a 2011 applicant?

Even if you are undecided, you can still write about one or two things that you're "interested" in. You said you write alot and want to continue doing so; if you're passionate about it and have something interesting to say, you could talk about how you want to pursue writing, and (I don't know you, just speculating) maybe you're considering a field in journalism, communications, etc, but you're just not yet sure enough to declare a major. Then say you want to flesh out these interests and figure out where you want to go in life by utilizing vandy's excellent resources :)

ohh so i write career goals too along with academic interests...
wat sort of course could an animal-freak do at vandy or any other place other than become a vet? n how good is that course at vandy?

they letting me apply late :-D
