Why was my test different from everyone else's?

Today, at my test center, it seemed that every student had a different test. No two people had the same reading passages, math problems, etc. The only thing similar was the writing prompt.

So I expected everyone on CC to be comparing their different tests and such, right? But no, it seems like basically everyone here is discussing one test -- a test completely different from the one I took.

Does anyone know why this might be? I took the ACT in June, also, and everyone at my test center then had the same test. Why the change? And was it only my school? Anyone in the know about how these things work?!

That's weird. Did you take w/o writing or something? I can't imagine even that would be different.

Nope, I took it with writing.

Do you happen to remember your test's form number? I know mine was 68F, and there were all sorts of different # forms floating around at my test center.

Bump, just 'cause I'd really like to find this out?

well waht reading passages did you get? all i remember was the girl looking for animals on other planets

I'm pretty sure form number doesn't mean that you have a completely different test.. or at least that's what I thought.

Reading Passages:
- Family preparing for the 4th of July
- Environmentally friendly businesses
- The beauty of words/English
- Flying paradise snake

Everyone at my school had a different test, complete with different passages, different math q's, etc.

I'm just trying to figure out what this means? I thought my math section was much harder than usual - I didn't even finish 5 q's when I normally finish with plenty of spare time..? I've taken math up through Alg. 2 but I encountered things I never learned.

math section tested a bit of trig (law of cosines)

i definitely did not get those passages

i was about to ask the exact same thing..nobody at my texting room had the same passage and all the booklets had a different color..mine was greenand nobody on cc has had the same questions as me..weird cuz most of you seem to hav had the same questions

^ Yeah, my room had all different color booklets, too!

Mine was like in between purple and blue (indigo? lol), but I saw yellow ones, pink ones, you name it. Why though?!

i have no idea..im so angry everyone here seems to have the same questions?!!!

My test book was purple and I took it with writing (did you do the same)

And I had absolutely none of those passages. I'm pretty sure I had form 48D

I think I had form 68F.

Mine wasn't quite purple though, more like indigo. And yep, I took writing.

Was your writing prompt about the focus on winning in high school sports? That was the only consistency through all the tests at my center.

yeah i had writing and i think my form was 63B and so far none of these passages matches mine..for reading did you have something about a young girl and toys/books, companies, japanese poet, deserts/whirlwinds

This is so annoying - in June when I took it, I had the same test as everyone else. it helps me relieve stress to compare answers, lol. But now -- no one!

I didn't have any of those readings.. but I had a writing passage about Carlsbad Cavern and one about Japanese martial arts.

I can't remember what color my book was, but I'm pretty sure everyone had the same test, and I had the same one that most CCers seemed to have had.
Maybe there was a history of cheating before at the place you took it, or bad proctoring?
Or maybe the ACT is doing some sort of experiment?

thats so weird ah ive never taken it and had a different one..i know how you feel it DOES help relieve the stress

I think it's more likely some kind of experiment... hopefully one that involves giving some people a ridiculously hard math section and then curving it generously cough ;)

nobodies mentioned anything thats ben on mine
anyone have the woman who danced like seagulls?
or the WPA Harlem Renaissance?
or the dutch artist that painted churches?

thats what i thought that act is doing some experiment but how are they gonna average out the scores cuz theoretically one test could have been easier argh im confused
