And similarly, I think the one for National Merit also got locked? Why is that? These are incredibly helpful threads and scholarships get added and removed, so why was it locked???

OK, I was wrong. The National Merit one is still open, and is here: <a href=“NMF Scholarships: An Updated Compilation - National Merit Scholarships - College Confidential Forums”>NMF Scholarships: An Updated Compilation - National Merit Scholarships - College Confidential Forums;

The Full Ride Thread was locked to provide reference information. An open thread generates conversation which makes it hard to find the actual data. The Full Ride thread will be updated as new information becomes available.

Thanks @Erin’s Dad, but how will someone be able to update it? Let’s say I learn about a change to an existing scholarship. How does that change get reflected?

The thread was attracting frequent nonsense posts and unrelated questions - that is why it was locked.

I have moved to an offsite listing (referenced in the thread) that allows me to make updates even with the thread locked:
http://automaticfulltuition.yolasite.com/

You are welcome to PM me with updates or corrections, or if you start a thread to discuss a particular scholarship I will usually see that and incorporate the thread info.

@BobWallace, wouldn’t including automatic scholarships that have requirements such as state residency or ethnicity be helpful to many? For example, including Auburn’s automatic in-state scholarships would be helpful to Alabama residents searching the list.

No doubt many things would be helpful!

I started the thread to assist students in finding affordable options outside their home state. In-state is cheaper to begin with, of much more limited interest, and often well-understood by local guidance counselors. More importantly, it would be a lot more work for me to research, compile, and keep up-to-date.

A couple of the same reasons apply regarding ethnicity-based scholarships - more limited appeal and a lot more work for me. :-)

OK, thank you @BobWallace!
